Sonnets of Shakespeare
Shakespeare's words have been recorded for posterity by the likes of Laurence Olivier, Leslie Howard, Jason Robards, John Gielgud, Kenneth Branagh, James Cagney — and now, John L. Mahoney. This beautiful CD compilation includes 25 sonnets penned by the Bard of Avon, including the ever-popular ''Shall I Compare Thee to a Summer's Day'' (no. 18), and others such as ''What Is Your Substance, Whereof Are You Made?'' (no. 53) and ''How Like a Winter Hath My Absence Been'' (no. 97). John Mahoney is the Thomas F. Rattigan Professor Emeritus in English Literature at Boston College and the ''Sonnets of Shakespeare'' is part of the J. Robert Barth, SJ, Poetry Reading Series. This is a wonderful gift for any admirer of Shakespeare.
